Carling Cup football Betting - Manchester United vs Wolves

The Carling Cup holders Manchester United begin the defence of their trophy tonight at Old Trafford against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The last time the two sides met was in 2006 in Wolverhampton and United came away with a 3-0 win. The Red Devils look likely to win again tonight, and they are favourites at 1/3 (bet $30 to make $10 profit). Wolves are big underdogs at 10/1 and the draw is 4/1.
Man United to win 2-0 is the favourite score at 11/2, with 1-0 next at 15/2. Another 3-0 United win is at 8/1, but a repeat the score of the 4-3 win on sunday over rivals City seems unlikely as Wolves should struggle for goals, and is 175/1. Wolves to hold United to a 0-0 draw is 18/1 and 1-1 is 12/1. Wolves to snatch a dream 1-0 win is 31/1.
Michael Owen is joint-favourite with Wayne Rooney to open the scoring, and may be better value, as there is a good chance Rooney will be rested. Frederico Macheda and Danny Welbeck, two of United’s youngster’s likely to feature tonight, are 5/1 and 11/2 respectively. For Wolves, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake, the Championship’s top scorer last season with 25 goals, is 11/1 with his strike partner Kevin Doyle at 12/1. Ebanks-Blake seems the better value of the two as he takes penalties.
Man Unitedtd to lead at half-time and full-time is the most likely scernario at 10/11, followed by draw/Man Utd at 7/2. Draw/draw is 8/1, and Wolves to lead at half-time only for Man Utd to win at full-time is 28/1.
The tie must be settled tonight, and if scores are level then extra time and penalties can be played. Man Utnied are 16/1 to win on penalties, and Wolves are 18/1. To qualify for the next round by any means United are 2/15. Wolves are 6/1 and will need to put on a stunning display to beat a United side who are coming off four straight wins, the last three against Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City, and look in devastating form.
