World Cup 2014 Odds - Brazil favourites to triumph on home soil

Despite being knocked out in the quarter-finals for the second time running, Brazil are the bookmakers` favourites to win the 2014 World Cup. The Samba Stars have been chalked up as the 4/1 (bet £10 to win £40 profit) favourites with Ladbrokes, even though they are currently manager-less after previous coach Dunga recently paid the price for a disappointing 2010 campaign.
Punters are betting that a new coach and a home advantage can inspire the 2014 Brazilian national team to triumph in front of their fans. The likes of Kaká and Robinho will be in their primes and can lead the next generation of stars, which includes Santos FC`s Neymar, who will be 22-years-old in 2014. A run to the final would see Brazil go for immortality in the 90,000 seater Maracanã.
Next in the World Cup 2014 betting is Argentina, who are 6/1 with Paddy Power. Diego Maradona looks likely to still be in charge and Lionel Messi`s side won the World Cup the last time it took place in South America in 1978.
Spain are 6/1 with Stan James to become only the third team to successfully defend their World Cup title, but fans of La Roja would do better by simply backing their side to win Euro 2012 at 9/2 with Coral.
Germany will be looking to do even better at the next World Cup after finishing third yet again in South Africa, and can be backed at 12/1 with Sky Bet. As a betting proposition, Germany look a much better bet to win the 2014 World Cup than England at 20/1, who missed their golden opportunity in 2006.
25/1 looks to be a generous price about France repeating their 1998 heroics, as they have some exceptional young players coming through and will have the guidance of coach Laurent Blanc. 12/1 Holland finished runners-up this year and have been beaten in all three of the World Cup Finals they have contested. Meanwhile Italy are 20/1 shots with Betfred.
Other South American sides with a chance of winning are Chile and Uruguay, who are available at 40/1 and 50/1 respectively with 888sport.
Brazil and Spain certainly look like solid wagers at this early stage, but the most interesting long-shots are Belgium who are 250/1 with William Hill. The likes of Witsel, Defour, Fellaini, Hazard and Dembélé will all be near their prime, and there is a chance that they could become a powerful force to be reckoned with. The Red Devils` best performance to date was fourth place in Mexico `86, where they were led by the legendary striker Enzo Scifo. Fans can back Belgium to win Euro 2012 at 150/1 with Paddy Power.
