World Cup betting - Uruguay vs Germany first goalscorer odds

Miroslav Klose is only two goals away from Ronaldo`s all-time World Cup scoring record and he will hope to add to his current tally of fourteen goals so far by opening the scoring tonight as Germany take on Uruguay in the third-place play-off.
William Hill and Bet 365 make Klose 9/2 (bet £20 to win £90 profit) favourite to draw first blood for the Germans and it is worth noting that his four goals in the tournament have come despite the Bayern Munich striker getting sent off early on against Serbia and missing the following match through suspension.
He is followed in the betting by Lukas Podolski, who has an excellent scoring record for his country with 40 goals in 79 caps. Two of those have come in this tournament and William Hill and Victor Chandler are best price, offering 7/1 on the 25 year-old.
Thomas Muller is equal with Klose on four goals in South Africa so far and he is 8/1 with most bookmakers to break the deadlock this evening on his return from suspension. Germany clearly missed him against Spain in the semi-final and he will be a very welcome addition to the team to face Uruguay.
For Uruguay, the biggest dangers come from Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez, who is also returning from suspension today. Forlan has carried his team so far in the tournament with some crucial goals and, like Muller, is available at 8/1 having scored five times in the competition.
Suarez, who hit 35 goals in only 33 games for Ajax last season, was banned for one match after handling on the goal-line to deny Ghana a last-gasp goal in the quarter finals. He is 11/1, again with William, to make his impact in a more respectable way today.
The match kicks off on Friday night at 7.30 pm BST.
