Germany are favourites to beat Uruguay tonight as the teams meet in the third place play-off at the World Cup in South Africa. Both teams have reason to be pleased with their overall campaigns but will be disappointed not to be contesting the final in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Paddy Power and Bet 365 offer 4/5 (bet £50 to win £40 profit) that Germany win in 90 minutes tonight, leaving Uruguay as underdogs at 4/1 with Coral and Ladbrokes. The draw, which would see the match go to extra time, is available at 14/5 with Totesport.

The third place play-off has only gone into extra time once in 80 years, back in 1986, but Germany are 8/1 with Boylesports to require 120 minutes to beat their opponents tonight, with Uruguay priced at 16/1 with Totesport and Victor Chandler.

Penalties are also a possibility and Germany are favoured in the event of a shoot-out, at 12/1, with the South Americans slightly longer at 14/1. The favourites are yet to experience penalties at this World Cup, however, while Uruguay have, eliminating Ghana in the quarter finals.

The match kicks off this evening in Port Elizabeth at 7.30 pm BST.
