World Cup Top Goalscorer betting odds - Villa favourite for Golden Boot

Spain`s David Villa has been installed as the bookmakers` favourite to finish as the top goalscorer at this summer`s World Cup after the Barcelona forward carried his side into the semi-finals by scoring five times in the tournament so far. He is available at evens (bet £10 to win £10 profit) with Extrabet and this seems reasonable value on his showings up until this stage.
He is followed in the betting by Holland`s Wesley Sneijder, who has managed five goals himself despite playing in midfield. He is 5/1 on Betfair to finish as top scorer and punters who backed him at long odds pre-tournament will be glad that he was awarded what should have been an own-goal against Brazil in the quarter-finals.
Miroslav Klose`s four goals have all been deserved and the Germany striker, who won the Golden Boot at the last World Cup, is now only one goal behind Ronaldo`s all-time record of fifteen career goals at the finals. He is 7/2 with most bookmakers to be top scorer for the second World Cup in a row and he will have a great chance if he gets on the score-sheet against Spain tonight.
Diego Forlan`s Uruguay may have lost in the semi-finals but he has scored four times along the way and he will have a chance to add to his tally in the notoriously high-scoring play-off for third place against either Germany or Spain. At 25/1 with Sky Bet, he looks far better value than the current market leaders.
