World Cup Semi-Final betting - Germany vs Spain first goalscorer odds

David Villa is favourite to continue his phenomenal form at this summer`s World Cup by opening the scoring in his side`s semi-final against Germany tonight. The Barcelona striker has already found the net five times in the competition and he is 9/2 (bet £20 to win £90 profit) on Betfair to put Spain on their way to the final this evening.
Following Villa in the betting is Fernando Torres, priced at 6/1 with most bookmakers. Torres has struggled so far at the World Cup and his performances have been widely criticised. His talents are not in doubt but his troubles in front of goal have led to talk of Vicente del Bosque dropping the Liverpool man for tonight`s clash and for that reason he may be best avoided.
In the event that Torres does start the game on the bench, his replacement is likely to be either Fernando Llorente or Cesc Fabregas. Llorente, who is 8/1 with Sky Bet and Victor Chandler, has been impressive in his appearances as a substitute so far, most noticeably having a huge hand in Villa`s winning goal against Portugal.
However, del Bosque may instead opt for Fabregas after watching Diego Maradona`s attack-heavy side get torn apart by tonight`s opponents. At 14/1 with Bet 365, Fabregas may represent better value than Llorente, and he will be eager to make the most of his chance if handed a start to try and feature in the final should Spain go through tonight.
Germany are not without goalscorers of their own, however, and Miroslav Klose, who won the Golden Boot at the last World Cup, has already found the net four times in South Africa. At 13/2 with Paddy Power, Klose is seen as the biggest threat in his side, and it is very difficult to argue with his international scoring record.
Lukas Podolski is another player who is extremely prolific in a Germany shirt, having scored 40 goals in 78 caps at the age of just 25. He is 9/1 with Betfred to do the honours tonight and is likely to play for much of the game as Thomas Muller is unavailable due to suspension.
An interesting outsider to open the scoring tonight is Sergio Ramos at 39/1 on Betfair, who has looked very lively from right-back so far in the tournament and boasts five international goals from defence.
Germany vs Spain kicks off at 7.30 pm BST.
