World Cup 2010 Outright betting odds

There are just four teams left competing for the World Cup this year and the bookmakers are finding it very difficult to separate the three European teams left in the competition. Germany, Spain and Holland are all given similar chances of lifting the trophy, with South American representatives Uruguay unfancied so far by punters.
Spain are the slight favourites, with Extrabet offering 21/10 (bet £10 to win £21) on the European Champions. They have not quite lived up to expectations so far, however, losing their opening game to Switzerland and only edging past both Portugal and Paraguay by single-goal margins.
Star Fernando Torres` performances in South Africa have drawn a lot of criticism for the Liverpool player but if he can find his form, along with others such as Xavi and Andres Iniesta, there is no doubting the potential of Spain and they will be very tough opponents for Germany in the next round.
Germany, by contrast, have been arguably the best team of the tournament despite few people giving them much hope of glory going into the tournament. It seemed that the injury to Michael Ballack left Germany with few proven star players besides the off-form Miroslav Klose, but those that remain have stepped up, noticeably the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Muller.
The three-time winners crushed England and Argentina 4-1 and 4-0 to reach the semi-final and Spain, who beat them two years ago in the European Championships final, will be very wary of the obvious threat they pose. Germany are 21/10 in several places, and as short as 9/5 with 10Bet.
Another side who have performed seemingly above themselves are Holland, who shocked the world in the quarter-finals by eliminated a Brazil team who looked very much like they would win the tournament on the back of their results going into the game. They Dutch face a very winnable semi-final against Uruguay and at 9/4 (Victor Chandler), they are sure to attract some action.
The only one of four South American sides in the quarter-finals to have progressed is Uruguay and they are 14/1 on Betfair to provide the biggest shock since Greece won the European Championships in 2004. Uruguay have won the World Cup twice already but that was a different age and the suspension of Luis Suarez means they will struggle against Holland in the next round.
The World Cup final will be held in Johannesburg on the 11th of July.
