World Cup 2010: Brazil v Chile First Goalscorer Odds

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - Tournament favourites Brazil face Chile tonight at Ellis Park, and fans of the Samba Stars will be confident that their team can progress to the quarter-finals. Brazil have beaten Chile in each of the last six matches the two sides have contested, and it is just 4/7 with Victor Chandler that Dunga`s men make it seven in a row in 90 minutes tonight.
In the first goalscorer market, Sevilla hitman Luis Fabiano is best-priced at 4/1 with Stan James, despite being 3/1 in places. Luis Fabiano has been overtaken in the race for the Golden Boot by Gonzalo Higuaín, who is now on four goals, but he has a chance to take advantage of a decimated Chilean defence. Defenders Gary Medel and Waldo Ponce are suspended, which means that Chile may field Contreras, Jara and Isla at the back.
Midfielder Mauricio Isla will be starting at right back, but the 22-year-old Udinese player will have a big job on his hands to contain Robinho.
Robinho has not found the net at the 2010 World Cup finals yet, but he is Ladbrokes` 5/1 second favourite to open the scoring. His compatriot Kaká returns from suspension tonight to face Chile, and looks a decent wager at 9/1 on Betfair.
Elano has scored two of his nine goals for Brazil at these finals, and he could reward Paddy Power customers at 10/1.
Chile are 9/2 to open the scoring tonight, and it is 6/5 with Betfred that both teams score within 90 minutes.
Chile`s best hopes of a goal lie with Humberto Suazo, who has scored 18 goals for his country. Suazo is a penalty taker and is 12/1 with Blue Square to score the first goal.
Jean Beausejour is not exactly prolific, yet he is 16/1 with Sky Bet. 12/1 Alexis Sanchez deserves a goal at these World Cup finals, but he may find life difficult tonight against an under-rated Brazilian defence.
