World Cup 2010 - Brazil Top Goalscorer Betting

Luis Fabiano`s double against the Ivory Coast has seen him installed as favourite to finish the World Cup as Brazil`s top goalscorer. The Sevilla striker`s club season was disrupted by injury but he still managed an excellent 15 goals in only 18 starts and he will be the focal point of his country`s attack this summer.

Fabiano is just as prolific for Brazil as he is for Sevilla,  having scored 25 times in 37 caps, and at 4/6 (bet £60 t win £40 profit) the bookmakers believe he will continue to score goals throughout the World Cup campaign.

He is followed in the betting by Elano, at 2/1 with Ladbrokes. The former Manchester City midfielder, who now plies his trade in Turkey with Galatasaray, has also scored twice already in the tournament, and while he does not play in as advanced a role as Fabiano, his odds are far more attractive  in a team that shares its goals throughout the squad.

Another former City man now playing outside of Europe`s top leagues is Robinho. The Santos forward scored three goals in Brazil`s final two friendlies before the World Cup and he has looked very dangerous so far in the group stages, constantly getting into dangerous positions and taking advantage of the space created by Fabiano. Robinho is 5/1 to overhaul Elano and Fabiano and finish as Brazil`s top scorer in South Africa.

In any top goalscorer market, penalty takers must be given some thought and Kaka is the most likely to step up to the spot for the five-time winners. Add that to his attacking style and 26 international goals and many will surely be tempted by the 14/1 on offer with Ladbrokes.
