World Cup 2010 - Argentina Top Goalscorer betting

No team at the World Cup has a group of strikers quite like Argentina. Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Diego Milito are all world class and they look like they will be sharing a lot of goals at this summer`s tournament.

Higuain, of Real Madrid, has got off to the best start of the quintet. His hat-trick against Argentina has seen him installed as the favourite to top-score for his side at 2/9 (bet £90 to win £20 profit) with Ladbrokes.

However, Diego Maradona appears to have shown that he will be rotating his squad through the tournament, and while Higuain is not guaranteed to start every game, Lionel Messi most certainly is.

Messi, current holder of the Ballon d`Or, was many people`s tip to be the top scorer at this World Cup. He is yet to score in the World Cup but he leads the competition in shots taken and it can only be a matter of time until it`s business as usual for the Barcelona star. Messi has shown that he can score three or four n one game against any defence and at 5/1 with Bodog he is surely better value than Higuain.

Carlos Tevez scored 22 Premier League goals for Manchester City last season and he has been incredible in both matches he has played so far, outshining Messi against South Korea. He will need to take his chances in the next round if he is to catch Higuain and keep up with Messi, but he is as long as 20/1 with Ladbrokes and Bodog.

Diego Milito and Sergio Aguero are 33/1 and 40/1 respectively. Milito scored thirty goals as Inter collected the fist ever Italian treble last season and Aguero seems to be desired by almost every club in Europe, but the pair may not get enough time on  the pitch to finish as their team`s top goalscorer.

Argentina are 5/1 on Betfair to win the World Cup this season and will face Mexico in the next round on Sunday.
