World Cup 2010 betting - Serbia vs Ghana
By Matt Knowles on 2010-06-13 13:49:14
Serbia are favourites to beat Ghana today as both sides get their World Cup campaigns under way in Pretoria.
Extrabet offer 13/10 (bet £10 to win £13 profit) on the Serbs, leaving Ghana as underdogs as 10/3 with Stan James, with the draw at 12/5 (Labrokes).
The favourites are not in their best form but seem to have recovered slightly from their shock defeat to New Zealand last month, beating Cameroon 4-3 last time out.
Ghana, however, will know they need to improve if they are to achieve much at this tournament and their dreadful showings against Buurkina Faso demonstrated just how much they will miss their injured captain, Michael Essien.
The bookmakers have made a 1-0 win for Serbia the favourites score for the game at 11/2 with Canbet, followed by 1-1 at 6/1 with the same firm.
The first six games have provided only eight goals and today`s match is 15/2 with Sportingbet to finish goalless.
Victor Chandler lead the way in the first goalscorer market and they offer 13/2 on Zigic to open the scoring tonight for Serbia, followed by Pantelic and Jovantevic at 10/1. For Ghana, Adiyah is seen as the biggest threat and the forward is also available at 10/1.
Both sides are real outsiders for the World Cup this year but Serbia, at 66/1, are given a far better chance than their opponents, who are as long as 200/1.
